The House That Berry Place Built

Recently appearing on Channel 4 and at the ExCel in London was Grand Designs Live.

One of Kevin McCloud tasks throughout the show was to build a house in just six days from recycled materials using traditional and cutting edge techniques.

If you were watching closely and didn’t blink too often, you might have noticed a miniature of the proposed build he used to explain the construction and use of unusal materials within the house. Berry Place supplied the model, which was made from a mixture of materials to suggest various construction methods to be used on the real thing e.g. hay bales were scaled down to bite size breakfast cereal.

Quite importantly, the model was made as separate parts, which could be assembled by Kevin to show the degrees and order of construction. It’s remarkable how similar the real thing looked like the model when completed.
